The concept of managing the Thunderbolts was... daunting, to say the absolute least. But when you were given an assignment, you weren't one to turn it down. Especially with Valentina over your shoulder.
The Watchtower was far from livable when the team had actually formed, so they'd been put up in temporary accommodations, up until now.
You could say the team was less than thrilled about becoming roommates. You'd tried your best with the room assignments, keeping them spaced out as much as you could, but there was only so much to do.
Displeasure on some faces, excitement on others (one, really), you lead the group through their new home, a thousand feet above Park Avenue.
Your eyes had caught on Bob over and over. He wasn't outwardly overjoyed like Alexei, but there was a soft sort of happiness visible in his expression. He trailed the group, hands behind his back, quiet hums and nods that caught your ear as you presented.
Winding the group through their floor, you deposited each member at their doors, until there was just one left. Him.
You linger at his door a little, debating whether or not you really want to spill the one secret you were hesitant to divulge to any of them.
"It's nice." He spoke after looking around, taking in what there was to see. "Don't think I've ever had a room this nice."
There was something about Bob. And you had been told to keep him calm. at least to the best of your ability.
"So, I... and don't tell anyone else- I'm... upstairs. Like, she's had me move in upstairs. To manage closely." The words feel like syrup coming out of your throat, like you should change your mind halfway through and swallow them back down. Like telling only him is a request for him to come up and see you.
"Oh. Oh!" He perks up a little at that, his shoulders straightening under his oversized sweater. "Could I see it?"
Awkward conversation and underlying tension aside, it's a quick elevator ride up to your pad. You opened the front door, your hand stilling on the knob as you turn back to him. "Do you want the house tour?"
His eyes shift over you before he nods, maybe a little too eagerly, his hands behind his back. Like he knows exactly what you mean. "Definitely."
