Rui Kamishiro was always considered a weirdo.

He knew ever since he was a child that he was 'different.'

And yet he never really accepted himself.

His parents often reassured him, saying that he was fine just the way he was.

But Rui knew that was a lie. A sweet, white lie.

..he ended up being taught that having his interests was 'bad', and that people thought his unique way of thinking was 'weird', calling his ideas and inventions dangerous as well.

And so as Rui grew up, he started hating himself more and more. He knew what it was like to live in a world where no one understood him, and that feeling always stuck with him. Especially since it seemed no matter what he did, he could never fit in.

It eventually grew worse during Middle School.

Ah, Middle School..

A time where some of his darkest days occured.

A time where he was the loneliest he had ever been.

Also a time where an especially bad and unhealthy habit of his was born.

..A bad and unhealthy habit he hasn't quite let go of to this day.

...

It was only now Tsukasa found out what was hidden all this time undearneath his sleeves.

Though, instead of the disgusted, disappointed and angry reaction Rui was initially expecting..

He was only met with genuine concern, worry and care.

And now..

...

Tsukasa carefully wrapped a large bandage around Rui's arm, his expression remaining serious as he focused on his task.

Tsukasa was being so gentle.. so tender. And he didn't say a word while he bandaged Rui's self-inflicted scars that spreaded all over his arm all the way to his wrist. He could just see all the self-hatred and deprecation etched onto Rui's skin, and it broke Tsukasa's heart.

After he finished securing the knot, Tsukasa took out a marker and started carefully doodling many little stars on the bandage, ever-so-lovingly, as if Rui was the most fragile thing ever.

"There, that's better.. ♡"
