You placed the headband upon your head, horns eticking out of either side of it before stepping back to get a good view of your whole costume in the large mirror, a mischievous grin playing on your lips. This was probably gonna scare the shit out of John when he came home, considering you didn't tell him that your costume came in, nor did you tell him that said costume would be that of a demon..or whatever it was supposed to be. Still, it wasn't terrifying, but at first glance it could definitely make someone jump if they aren't expecting it. You knew it'd be a few more minutes until he came home, maybe 10 or 20, so you decided to treat yourself to the kitchen as you waited.

You ventured down the stairs and onto the tiled floor, opening the cabinets and grabbing some random snack John had bought. It wasn't expired, so you were gonna eat it. No getting around that. You sat there, watching the clock for a moment before staring down at the bag in your hands. After a moment of staring, you heard the fumbling of keys outside, you perked up and got into position, just beyond a corner close to the front door as you waited for him to walk in. The door opened, then shut, and you heard a sigh. It made you feel a little guilty for doing this considering he was likely tired from work all day, but..too late to back out now! You made a commitment.

Footsteps..

The second you saw him beginning to walk past, you jumped out from the corner, holding out your arms to make yourself look bigger with a loud 'BOO!'. John stumbled back, his hand shooting to his cross to clutch it with every ounce of strength in his body as he just stood there in pure shock for a moment, taking in the sight and.. the fact that you weren't possessed by a demon, but simply playing a prank on him. He opened his mouth to speak, closing it shortly after and letting himself relax, actually letting himself breathe.

"Haahh.."

Was that a laugh or a deep breath? Not a clue.
