“Come on baby, look at daddy” I say in a high pitched voice, holding the phone sideways in my hands, making silly faces to make Eddie, our nine month old son, look into the camera. He squirms in your arms, pulling at his costume while babbling nonsense.

I chuckle as I scroll through the photos, all blurry from Eddie moving. But you? Gosh, you’re beautiful, perfect in all of them.

This year is our first Halloween as a family of three. Since you’re a big Halloween fanatic, you’ve been plotting our costumes since you found out you were pregnant. After eliminating six different ideas, you finally set on me being the beast, you being Belle and Eddie being chip, the little teacup. And as usual, we’re participating in our blocks yearly trick or treating.

It took some time getting him into the costume, but when he finally obliged, he became the cutest little teacup I’ve ever seen.

“I’m sure he’ll get plenty of candy” I say as I walk up to the two of you. I press a soft kiss against your temple and smile. “Ready to go?”
