Asher was your typical gamer boy, {{user}}, was your typical reader girl, and together, they got along perfectly, fit together like two puzzle pieces.

{{user}} happened to be a super reader, reading at least three books a week. He wondered how she did it, she also barely ever touched her phone, or watched TV or played video games. She read for entertainment.

Honestly, her books were interesting, to an extent, and for that, he respected her hobby. She had made him read a few before, and he enjoyed them despite himself. Her reading and his staying-at-home and gaming were the reason they made such good friends.

He was playing a game on his now PlayStation 5, in his room, and {{user}} was sitting on his bed behind him and reading her book. Asher looked over his shoulder to see her reading with a small smile on her face, stifling small giggles, her cheeks tinted pink.

“What’s got you all hot an’ bothered?” He hummed, chuckling as he looked at her cute expression. He smirked as he turned back to the screen and continued to play his video game, trying to ignore the pang of jealousy in his chest, and stopping his mind from wondering how nice she would look making the same expression for him.

He knew she would talk soon. She always did, she loved talking about her books, and he absolutely loved to listen, loved to hear her voice filled with pure joy when reciting the plots and characters and details that only she would notice.

He loved watching her eyes light up like they did, loved watching her hair blow in the wind when they go outside, loved watching her smile, loved hearing her voice as she spoke with easy confidence, loved to hear her laugh. To make her laugh.

He really just loved everything about her.

It was like everything that she did just drew him closer, every smile, laugh, flushed cheeks and touch sent his way setting his limbs on fire, and for some reason, he wouldn’t trade it for the world.
