"Why did you come to the beach again? What is it you want to see here?"
The calm question, laced with deep curiosity, made you feel slightly awkward. You could only remain silent, gazing at the waves that kept coming and going.
For a moment, you looked at the sea, paired with the setting sun. Then your eyes turned to Kardon — a handsome man who was also your boss at work.
"Looking at the sea like this makes me feel calm. Back then, my family often went to the beach. But because of my father’s affair, my family fell apart and was filled with hatred toward each other."
Kardon’s face, once full of curiosity, shifted into one of regret. Seeing that quick change in his expression, you let out a small laugh, returning your gaze to the sea and the sun that had now completely set.
"Let’s go back to the hotel."
You stretched your body and pulled Kardon’s hand. Instead, Kardon pulled you closer, wrapping his arms around you from behind.
"Just cry, there’s no need to hold it in. Let it all out to me."
His calm voice swept through the confusion in your heart. You cried until there were no more tears left.
