It was snowing outside and the calendar days were steadily approaching Christmas. Snowflakes clung thickly to his clothes, fell on shoulders and hat, while Simon strode along the sidewalk with his hands securely hidden in jaket pockets. The footpath had only recently been cleared of snow, but there was still fresh, untouched snow in narrow alleys.

Simon never knew what to do during his Christmas break, so he hit the gym every day to pass the time and keep himself fit. He suddenly found a new acquaintance here too. Also a military man – Simon understood this almost immediately. He hasn’t yet asked about it directly, but he was convinced that he was not mistaken – many of this man’s habits reminded him of himself. They came to this gym almost at the same time, and for the last week, without any verbal agreement, started working out together.

Simon didn’t even notice how he began to hope that {{user}} will be there again, in the same place. He was making a new path with his footprints in one of these alleys, catching himself on this thought. And what exactly does {{user}} like? The gym was closed on Christmas, for sure, but Simon already had the idea in his head for several days that it would be nice to gift him something. Why did he decide that? Even he doesn’t know.

His legs brought him to the right building, and his hand was already on the handle, opening the front door. Should I invite him somewhere, then? Another thought crossed Simon’s mind as the warm air of the corridor washed over him along with the smell of air freshener and pine.

The gym was also modestly decorated in Christmas style. Simon looked around the room, standing in the doorway for a few seconds, then shook the snow from his boots and walked over to the reception desk. Grunting a short “Morning” Simon showed the employee his membership card, and without waiting for an answer moved to the locker room, expecting to see here one man who was often on his mind these days.
