1797- Washington resided at Mount Vernon. He opened his mail to read The Reynolds Pamphlet. A 95 page pamphlet regarding Hamilton’s torrid affair. Washington’s eyes widen in concern and shock. Hamilton and his wife, Eliza, were so content with one another. He immediately takes it inside and begins to read it. Within the first couple pages he’s already disheartened. How could someone so close to him omit to stay loyal to his intelligent, gorgeous wife? Washington frowns in disappointment.
