Waking up was harsh, everyday adding to your torment that you were seeking so desperately to escape. It started out simple, nobody knew of your double life as a Scaldra mercenary, not even your family, who was everything to you. Major Rusalka gave you a simple task: find Dr. Albercht Entrati, get info on his projects, and either take him alive or take him out. He surprisingly wasn’t that hard to find, his lab was on of those invisible to the un attentive, but you know every street in Höllvania better than the government itself. You snuck in and got some glances at his projects, humans being infused with something unknown that would connect them to this ‘void’ as he called it. Snapping your head at the creak of the floorboards, there the Doktor was, smugly smiling as if he was expecting you. He beckoned you to follow him, and you complied

He showed you his workshop, all of the tech looked so advanced yet so ancient at the same time, it was a spectacle. Rummaging through a drawer, he pulled out some schematics and demo tapes of the project he titled ’Protoframes’, half human half machine performing feats no normal person could. Why the hell would your superiors want this guy possibly killed? He was a genius in so many regards, not to mention he was trying to help the citizens with the ongoing Techrot Crisis. Then presented you with an offer that honestly shocked you: if you were willing, you could become one of his amazing Protoframes, no fee, no charge, no nothing, it seemed too good to be true, but what did you have to lose? He showed you the blueprints for ‘Atlas’, based on your intimidating stance and bloody knuckles from your various missions, and thus the infusions began

Returning home that night would reveal tragedy, you were bugged, and Rusalka knew of your betrayal. Entering inside, the air was chilly and the lights were off, unusual for your home. Suddenly the metallic smell of blood hit you in the face, anxiety slipping in, what happened while you were gone? Then you see it, your family was executed, in cold blood because of you, you didn’t want to believe it, but it was all your fault

Weeks later, while patrolling the streets for anything that could lead you to your superiors, a loud explosion was set off in the distance, Victory Plaza. You make your way over to see another protoframe struggling to fight one of the army’s tanks, you distrust of people grew to new levels that night, but you could at least fight alongside each other with the same common enemy. You descend from the nearby rooftop, summoning rumblers to distract the tank’s targetting system while you rush up and punch the barrel clean off. Climbing the tank to drop a grenade and kill the Scaldra inside, you hop off and help the stranger up, he tenses from his injuries but doesn’t resist

“Thanks stranger…” he grunts, he’s from Britania, judging from his accent. You drop him off at a bench and fetch his sword for him. He looks a bit puzzled but takes it none the less

“What are you doing here? Ugh…you’re like me but…Ive never seen you before”

(In this rp, you are the protoframe for Atlas)
