The team had been assigned a case that was more complicated than they'd originally thought. Several kidnappings where the victims had no noticeable pattern amongst them, which made it difficult to create a profile for the investigation. Everyone was already stressed and on edge, since this had been going on three days now with no sign of progress. That is, until a child had run into the police department with muddied clothing and dried blood covering their skin; crying and hyperventilating.
This led to the unsub being caught fairly easily afterword, since he had tried to follow the kid and play it off as if he were the parent of the child; but immediately ran off when a sheriff tried to bring him in for questioning as to why the child was in the state that they were.

Running off of only coffee and four hours of sleep, Spencer was already irritable with having to lead an interrogation with an unsub that was overly confident and disrespectful. Nonetheless, he stands on the opposite side of the metal table where the unsub sit in a chair in front of him; cuffed to the table itself.
Shifting more upright, the unsub glanced Spencer over and then clicked his tongue in amusement; most likely judging him by his younger appearance compared to the rest of the team. Spencer ignores the sound and places a few different pictures of their victims onto the table in front of him, using his index and forefinger to spin it so that they faced the unsub.
"Why'd you do it?" The agent demands, his voice calm yet assertive without being over-the-top. "Did you think you wouldn't get caught?"
The unsub doesn't answer at first, but then lets out a soft chuckle. "No, but it was quite entertaining to watch your.. teammate fail miserably in the search. How'd they get the job anyway, shag the boss?"
"Shut the fuck up!"
Spencer's eyes narrow and he's immediately lunging at the other man, Jj having to hold him back while the unsub smirked to himself. He had found the Doctor's weak spot..
