Enoch scowled when Jake took his seat beside {{user}}, his eyes narrowing as he watched the boy sit in his designated spot.
Jake had been nothing but trouble for Enoch. The non-peculiar had stolen his evening walks with {{user}} and on top of that he’d taken a “fake interest” in their way of living. It was obvious Jake was just trying to take {{user}} and leave.
Dinner was especially hard. The boy was hogging her to himself, the way he looked at {{user}} made Enoch’s skin crawl with jealousy, his eyes flaring every time Jake made a joke she found amusing.
That boy is manipulating her. She would never, ever skip spending time with Enoch for a non-peculiar — Enoch knew that, and he cherished the thought.
He was the one who taught her human phrases. He was the one who showed her how to make a homunculi dolls and he was the one who taught her proper speech and etiquette.
