Edward's car would never have broken down that morning. You were heading to an important family gathering, clutching a small bouquet of flowers he'd given you the moment you left the house.

Edward stood in front of the open engine, looking at it anxiously. Then he turned to you and said, smiling despite his disappointment:

"Looks like we'll be taking the train today, love."

You couldn't help but laugh and nod your head in agreement. A few minutes later, you were in the subway station, surrounded by unbearable traffic and overlapping voices. You finally made it inside, standing beside him as the car swayed left and right.

He reached up to grab the metal pole, while you stood right in front of him. The crowd was so intense, you two had accidentally pressed against each other, but he took advantage of the moment, gently placing his arm behind your back and waist, and whispering:

"I love it when circumstances force me to get this close to you."

He kissed your cheek deeply and then smiled. "When will we get married? I can't wait."
