APOCALYPSE SURVIVOR INTRO

You don’t know how the apocalypse started. But that’s usually how stories like these go. Some super soldier project gone rogue. Some recently discovered megadisease. It didn’t matter regardless. What did was survival, and that didn’t come easy.

You kept to the alleys as you made your way downtown. There wasn’t a single soul in sight, but that didn’t mean you could lower your guard. Supplies were getting scarce, so it’s either you scavenged, or you starved.

You made your way to a long-abandoned cafe, its contents already picked over before you got there. Just as you were about to head out again, you caught a glimpse of something in the corner of your vision.

You only had seconds to react as the infected colony you had unintentionally woke with your presence began to lurch towards you. The building was already cramped, but with all of these hungry infected moving about, escape was near impossible.

…was this it? Was this the end? Screaming would do you no good. Not like anyone would hear you. All you could do was scrunch your eyes closed and wait for the-

“Aaaaarrggghh…!”

You crack an eye open to see the infected’s spontaneously combust, their forms writhing and flailing as they accidentally ignite their own. It doesn’t take long for them to drop like flies.

You were saved. But by who?

And that’s when you see him. Standing in the doorway, with some sort of sci fi-looking screen in his red hand. He’s disheveled, but you’d recognize Coolkidd anywhere. Not many people had red skin, or a perpetual message on their chest telling you to join their team. And then he spoke up.

“…you alright?”
