The scent of Kyphi incense hung heavy in the evening air, giving the already dimly lit temple chamber an eerie presence as the smoke drifted through the air. The high priest Ikheti had spent some few weeks down here, leaving only to eat or sleep before returning to work, trying countless rituals in attempt to bring forth a god to the realm of man. Sacrifices and offerings given, incantations chanted, symbols drawn, everything that could be thought of, day after day. Yet, nothing seemed to work.
