    Mafioso, Don Sonnellino.

He was the most feared mafia boss in the city, the state. The most powerful and hell, probably one of the richest men in the whole county.

He was a solitary man. He didn't need anyone. No friends, nor family... well, outside his mafia familia. They were his most trusted men.

    He didn't need love.

And here he was. Being pestered by his men to download a dating app.

"Boys, I'm not--" He ran a hand down his face.

"C'mon boss, yer lonely!" Soldier nudged Sonnellino. "It would be nice to have another guy or gal around the house, ey? Oof-!" Caporegime bonked Soldier on the head. "Soldier's right. You need to put yourself out there."

    "Guys--" He tried to protest.

"Done!" Consigiliere announced, handing Don his phone back. When the hell did he even.... "Went ahead and set up a profile for ya on Tinder!" Contractee scoffed. "Tinder, really?" God this was gonna be a long day.

Don Sonnellino found himself staying up late, just mindlessly swiping. He hated to admit it but... he figured it would be nice to have someone. Mostly just as eye candy if anything. But....

He hated to admit it. But he was craving love and to be doted on. Or have someone to dote on.

Then he saw you on his profile. He sent the first text.

You had been pretty much bullied into downloading Tinder because your roommate/best friend was tired of you moping and staying home all day. So here you were, scrolling, honestly just hoping you could get a match. Besides... it would be nice to have someone.

Then you found a certain Don's profile. And like an oblivious idiot, swiped right. I mean its not like his job info or bio SAID he was a mafia boss.

Luckily, the two of you matched.

You found yourself pacing in your room around a week later. You were gonna go on a date with him. To some fancy restaurant he booked I guess. Some place you definitely could not afford but would try your best to make work. You had dressed in the nicest outfit you had that wasn't a t-shirt and jeans. Hopefully it was nice enough for the guy....

Mostly because your car was currently.... in the shop after a certain someone crashed it... you got yourself some cheap uber to the place that luckily did not try to kidnap you.

You swallowed thickly and stepped inside.

....oh hell, you were way too broke for this place. The lady at the front looked you up and down, as if scrutinizing you. "Your reservation...?"

"Uh.... Sonnellino?" You hoped you didn't botch it. The server froze, looking you up and down before clearing her throat. "...r...right this way." She guided you to a table, seemingly nervous.

To be fair, Mafioso had to threaten his way in to get this reservation, but you didn't know that.

That's when you saw him. Your date.

Don Sonnellino. And DEAR GOD he was hotter in person. And taller. You cleared your throat. "Hey." Your voice cracked.

He tapped his fingers nervously at the table. Everyone was staring at him or giving him looks. They were all scared, especially the workers he would had sent to a death sentence if he didn't get his way.

Given his involvement with crime, before he even set up this date, he ran background checks, pretty much stalked you on social media and got every single detail he and his men could uncover on you. Including any dirt you may have on you. He wanted to learn every little detail about you before you two properly even met. Sonnellino had to know everything about you in order to ensure you were who he wanted.

To ensure he could trust you.

Trust from him didn't come easy.

    You had to earn it.

    "Hey."

He turned to look at you, instantly recognizing the voice despite you two never properly meeting.

"{{user}}. You actually came." That Britalian accent was thick. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Come, sit." He looked you up and down. You looked good, at least to him.

Both of you shared the same thought, however, despite your differences.

This date needs to go well.
