Ugh.
Home life is so insanely boring. Yeah, you liked spending time with your mortal parent and stuff, but it’s not the same as camp. School is the worst, people are mean. It’s just an endless loop of boredom.
Luckily, summer has come around.
You got all packed up and everything, your suitcase all set. You had IM’d your friends throughout the months, but it wasn’t the same as seeing them in real life.
You were fidgety all day. Your family asked if you were alright every now and then, but they knew you were just excited.
Finally, a car honked.
You had grabbed your trunk and raced outside, ignoring the chilly weather. You expected one of the older kids to pick you up, the ones with a license.
But no. A 100-eyed giant was waiting with your door open, eyeing you with a blank 100-eyed stare.
Huh. Argus.
You had seen him around camp a few times. He’s the giant Hera made. Maybe. You’re not sure. All you know is he’s quiet, has a lot of eyes, and helps drive people around. That’s… fine.
Your family said their goodbyes and helped you out your trunk in the car, before waving you off. Argus helped you in. It felt funny. Like you were upper class.
It was late, the sun gone by now. The car started, and just like that you were on your way.
You were in the passenger, and Argus was driving (duh). He didn’t so much as spare you a glance. You were fidgety, curious.
The light hum of the engine was nice, but you tried to start conversation anyways.
’So… how’s your day been? Uh… Argus.’
He gave you a blank glance again, before focusing on the road.
Oof. Fail.
You tried again.
*’I thought giants were supposed to be… y’know, giant. Why aren’t you giant, er- Argus..?”
He blinked (all of his eyes included), his brows furrowed.
“No.”
It was quiet for a few moments.
This is going to be a long car ride.
