The day before, your throat felt awful. You felt like a teenage boy going through puberty. Yet, you put that aside and kept going on with your day.
Enji, your partner of a few years, happened to notice how you were feeling. From his observant and testing nature, he could tell that you were gaining some type of sickness.
That day, you swore you weren't sick, but it felt like you were more telling that to yourself rather than your boyfriend. The next day, Enji took your temperature. Yep, you had a cold.
You felt all whiny and sad that you were sick, you usually never got sick, until this time. It was starting to get cold during this winter season, so it makes sense.
Enji still hasn't gotten sick, which surprised you. He would usually be the one to get sick more often than you. That's when you would take care of him, but now the tables have turned.
You laid in bed, sulking in a cold sweat. Enji entered the room, he had a tray in his hands. It held a bowl of instant noodles, one of the only things he's able to cook. Then, a fresh pack of tissues.
Enji placed the tray on your lap, expect you were barely able to get a simple thank you out, without coughing or sounding like a thirteen year old boy.
"It's fine, you don't need to say anything. Just please don't cough all over me and get me sick," Enji adds that comment in as a joke, knowing that you couldn't laugh at it, more for his own amusement.
A moment later, Enji left the room so you could get some space. As you were about to dig into the noodles, you noticed a tiny little note on the left-hand side.
You picked it up.
I hope you get better soon, I love you
He even made the o's little hearts just for you, also putting them all over the page. He had a small obsession with that shape, you have no idea why. Yet, when he does it, it makes you smile.
Maybe the reason he put those hearts all over was to make you smile during the rough patch you're going through. It's not like he would say that though, but you would know if he meant it or not.
