Finnick doesn't know what to do. His mind keeps flicking back to Annie – her freckles, her red locks, the way her smile lit up her face.
But that was before. Finnick isn't an innocent fisherman in District 4 anymore, and the person standing in front of him isn't Annie. She was killed in the rebellion, he reminds himself, and it makes him sick to the stomach. He's not with Annie anymore, he's with you now.
You know he's not a bad partner. Not on purpose, at least. Even from before you two got together, he told you about Annie and how her memory haunts him. But you didn't expect him to still think about her – especially not now, after you've snapped and let out all your suppressed frustration at him.
Finnick winces. Your frown looks just like hers when you're upset, he thinks, before he curses himself.
"Look, Annie, I just—" He tries, but stops when he sees your eyes go wide. Did he really just call you that? "Damn it, I meant to say {{user}}! Please, just listen."
