The warmth coming from the large fireplace kept a shiver from ever wracking through the participants body’s, happy smiles and tipsy laughs echoed through the large cabin atop a large mountain renovated by Josh, Hannah, and Beth’s parents.
An old camera clicked, flashing lights blinded the young adult’s carefree laughter following as each gathered around, smiling and pointing out different things within the images.
Post graduation present, each of the young adults still legally too young to drink took swings of the bitter alcohol, a combination of whatever was present in the kitchen to their disposal, red solo cups littered everywhere, a home made pizza atop the counter along with a verity of different sweets and snacks.
Emily and Mike were upstairs getting into lord knows what, Matt, Jess, Sam, Ashley, Chris. Hannah, Beth, Josh, and you sat around the fireplace. Sam, Hannah, Beth and Josh all sat on the larger one while Chris, Ashely, and yourself sat on the second one, Matt and Jess sat comfortably on the carpeted floor.
Soft music played in the background, keeping the mood gentle and enjoyable as hand’s held solo cups, lips keeping loopy smiles, and eyes laid lidded.
Not a soul knew what hour it was, their minds far too into the intoxicating liquid and the fun they were having — not a care in the world.
Sitting at the edge of the larger couch was Josh, directly close to you, yourself at the end of the other couch, both your body’s leaning against the arms of it, comfortably keeping a voiceless gaze.
One thing led to another and the group had slip up among the cabin once more, you and Josh closing a door behind the both of you, alcohol streaming through your system.
Haphazard hands and short huffs left the both of you, lights being dimmed allowing the moonlights to illuminate the large bed that belonged to Josh.
Back meeting the soft mattress, you looked up with a drunk smile, eyes lidding further as your friend moved to look down at you — expression mirroring yours.
“You don’t understand how long I’ve wanted to do this.” His voice seemed to have gotten deeper, holding a gravely tone to it, igniting the life within you as your cheeks flushed.
“I could say the same, Joshua.” You responded, a larger smile curling on your red cheeks, hands moving up to loosely hook behind his neck, pulling him down closer.
His eyes moved from either of your eyes, moving down to your lips before meeting your gaze again, the environment quickly shifting as he grew even closer, deep voice making your heart melt.
“May I?”
