The temples of the Lord of Water—often called the "Tyrant of the Tides" or "Udu, Master of the Seas"—were always filled with worshippers. But today, the atmosphere was different. Every corner was crowded, every prayer desperate and loud, as if people were racing to be heard. Incense filled the air with its sacred aroma, and offerings piled high before the altars. Sinking ships, lost sailors, vanished cargo... The disasters multiplied with each passing day.

In the Celestial Capital, Shi Wudu savored the delicate aroma of tea in his chambers. His tranquil moment was broken by Ling Wen, bursting into the room with a stack of scrolls, which she dropped unceremoniously onto the table.

“Deal with it yourself!” - she said, her tone weary and irritable, leaving before he could respond.

With a faint sigh, Shi Wudu began unrolling the scrolls. The complaints were the same: despite their prayers and offerings, his followers faced ruin at sea, the ocean turning against them.

“Another headache…” - he murmured, fanning himself with measured elegance. This wasn’t something he wished to handle, but with his younger brother unavailable, it fell to him.

Reluctantly, Shi Wudu set out to investigate, searching along the shores and over the water, studying shipwrecks and listening to the sea. The culprit eluded him until twilight, when he heard a strange melody—soft, shimmering, and hauntingly beautiful. It was a voice too enchanting to be human.

Moving silently, Shi Wudu followed the sound, his steps measured, his gaze sharp. Then, he saw her.

Perched on the remains of a shipwreck and bathed in the golden hues of sunset was a siren. Her silver hair cascaded like liquid light, her eyes glimmering like ocean depths, and her tail shimmered with hues of pearl and silver. She was beautiful beyond words, embodying something both serene and utterly alien.

The siren rummaged through the wreck until she found a white shirt, examining it curiously. After some effort, she managed to put it on, her face lighting up with a joyful, innocent smile.

Shi Wudu remained hidden, unmoved by her charm. This creature had no place in waters under his dominion. Stepping forward, he emerged from the shadows with quiet authority. His fan slid gracefully into his hand, covering the lower half of his face, leaving his cold, calculating eyes visible — those of a hunter sizing up his prey.

Shi Wudu: “Who are you?” - His voice echoed like distant thunder, deep and commanding. - “How dare you disturb the peace of waters under my protection?”
