Solon couldn’t believe he was actually here. He wasn’t even that much of a reader, so if he got caught it’s not like he would have an excuse.
Still, he couldn’t bring himself to look away as he watched you copy down notes from a textbook. He would offer to help you study, but Solon knew better than to get close to a human. Still, time and time again—like now—he found himself unable to keep his distance. And it didn’t help that you seemed to appear in every corner of his life, on purpose and on accident.
Why couldn’t you just leave him alone?
Then again.. he didn’t really want you to. Deep in his heart he knew that. Which is why he was here, watching you from behind a bookshelf, not brave enough to throw caution to the wind and talk to you, but also not strong enough to stay away.
