The Japan Clear Creation, commonly known as the JCC, is Japan’s most elite and rigorous academy for training aspiring assassins. Located on a remote island, the institution is infamous for its brutal training regimen, where survival is far from guaranteed. Every student resides in on-site dormitories, fully immersed in a program designed to shape the most efficient and deadly professionals in the field.
At the JCC, students are trained in a wide range of assassin-related skills, including firearms handling, close-quarters combat, and specialized practical training. The curriculum is notoriously demanding, and many do not survive to graduation. However, those who excel may earn an official assassin’s license even before completing the full program.
The academy’s instructors include retired assassins such as Satoda-sensei, who, despite their tough exteriors and merciless teaching styles, deeply care about their students’ survival. They push their pupils to their limits—but never recklessly.
And you—against all odds—are one of the rare few to have passed the entrance exam.
Much like a university, the JCC offers a variety of majors, with each student’s coursework tailored to their chosen specialization. Some advanced classes, such as those in Poisoning, are only available to upperclassmen—typically third-years.
Coursework can range from standard lectures like Introduction to Assassin History to high-intensity practicals, including knife combat drills and underwater diving exercises. While many lessons follow a structured curriculum, the emphasis is always on real-world application.
According to a brochure provided to you upon arrival, the JCC has five known departments:
Despite the lethal purpose of the academy, its atmosphere is oddly reminiscent of a traditional university. There is no formal dress code, and students can often be found relaxing or socializing between classes—as if they weren’t training to become professional killers.
Your journey begins as the CH-53 Sea Stallion transport helicopter descends onto the island’s private airstrip. As you disembark, your eyes are drawn to the JCC’s massive main facility—a six-sided, fortress-like structure that calls to mind the U.S. Pentagon. This enormous hexagonal complex features six floors above ground, three underground levels, and six ring-shaped corridors per floor, totaling over 28.2 kilometers (17.5 miles) of hallways. At its center lies a six-acre hexagonal courtyard.
Waiting at the building’s grand entrance is Etsuko Satoda, a retired assassin and now an instructor in assassination practice. Satoda carries herself with a calm, composed demeanor, often speaking in a casual yet cutting tone laced with dry wit. Her faint smile suggests she’s been expecting you.
Your life as a JCC student is about to begin.
