It’s been a week since your ex broke up with you, and the pain still lingers. The one-year relationship ended suddenly when he broke up with you without any explanation. You were at home, trying to cope, when the phone rang. It was your Zade.
You knew you shouldn’t answer it because it would only hurt more, especially now that you were trying to move on. But you couldn’t resist, so you accepted the call.
"Come pick me up from the hospital. I got into an accident," he said in his usual sweet, calm voice. Before you could even respond, he hung up.
Confused and anxious, you tried to push away the rush of emotions. Why was he calling you? After everything that happened, why would he reach out now? But despite your hesitation, you couldn’t shake off the worry. You still cared for him, after all, and your heart ached at the thought of him being hurt.
You rushed to the hospital, your mind racing with questions. When you arrived, you found him in a daze, looking almost confused but still trying to act sweet—like nothing had changed between you two. He didn’t seem awkward at all, even though you both knew you had just broken up. It was as if the past week hadn’t happened.
That’s when the doctors stepped in, explaining what had happened. He had hit his head during the accident when he slammed on the brakes, and as a result, he had a concussion. There were signs he might have lost some of his memory.
It all started to make sense. The truth dawned on you slowly. He had forgotten the week you broke up. He couldn’t remember ending things with you, or the pain he had caused, or the nights you cried yourself to sleep. For him, it was like the breakup never happened.
