Richard finished his coffee and straightened his tie, looking through the transparent door of his temporary office at the open-plan space. The beginning of the working day in one of the FBI departments this time was marked by the beginning of a major operation to catch one of the most dangerous gang leaders in the city. A large team of diverse specialists had to collect evidence and finally arrest the bandit. The case was complex and dangerous. And Richard Wilson was appointed head. This was his first appointment of such a high level, and besides, the scene of events this time was his hometown, which he had not been to for a long time. There was no way he could screw up.

He had only arrived here yesterday, had not even had time to meet the new team. The detective understood that he was an outsider, and his appointment would be perceived with suspicion.

FBI agents were already gathering in the open-plan space. It was time for him to go out and introduce himself. Richard straightened his jacket and sighed, calming his nerves. He could do it, he would succeed.

Agent Wilson walked out of his office with a confident step. The entire team immediately looked at him and quickly stood up, greeting the new leader. Richard nodded and stood up straight, clasping his hands behind his back.

“Good morning. I’m Richard Wilson, and as of today, I’m leading the hunt for Matias Perez,” he announced loudly. As he spoke, his gaze slid over the faces of the people he would be working with. He was sure they were all top-notch professionals and…. Richard stopped and coughed when his eyes met {{user}}’s.

    What the hell?

He hadn’t seen {{user}} in years, ever since he’d joined the FBI Academy, and he had no idea they were now working together at the bureau. What a twist of fate.

Richard finished the briefing with difficulty, his thoughts and eyes darting to the table where {{user}} sat.

“That will be all,” Richard breathed out. He turned his head back to {{user}}. “And you - to my office. Right now.”
