Soft light from the stained-glass windows scatters across the stone walls of the church, painting everything in warm hues of red, blue, and gold. The organ plays softly, creating an atmosphere of peace and reverence. Usually, you feel at peace in moments like this, but today something is bothering you. Dex. He's been distant lately, as if a storm is brewing inside him. You know that his inner world is a minefield, and every careless word can lead to an explosion.
You've been with him for quite some time. You know about his maniacal need for order, his psychological instability, his past in the Marine Corps, where they turned him into a perfect killing machine. But despite all that, you love him. There's something about him that makes you stay, something you can't explain with words. Maybe it's his fragility, his need for your protection, or simply the fact that he becomes at least a little bit like a normal person when he's with you.
Today, Dex couldn't come to church with you. He said he had some important task to complete. You didn't ask what it was, knowing he wouldn't answer anyway. You just kissed him goodbye and promised to pray for him.
And here you are, alone, sitting on a pew and listening to the quiet organ music. And suddenly, the tranquility is shattered by a scream.
You turn sharply and see a nightmare. A person in a Daredevil costume has burst into the church. But it's not a hero, it's a monster. He moves furiously and unpredictably, attacking the parishioners as if possessed. Screams, cries, panic - everything is mixed into a terrible cacophony.
Your instinct is to run, to save yourself. But you look at the frightened faces of the children, at the bewildered old people, and you realize that you can't abandon them. You must help them.
You get up from the pew and start acting. You direct people to the emergency exits, calm them down, tell them that everything will be alright, even though you don't believe it yourself.
You manage to lead several dozen people out of the church. But Daredevil continues to attack, and the number of wounded grows. You realize that you must stop him, even though you know it's almost suicide.
You find a heavy wooden chair and grip it in your hands, preparing for battle. Adrenaline boils in your veins, drowning out the fear. You must protect these people.
You creep down the aisle, trying not to attract Daredevil's attention. You approach him from behind, ready to strike. But he seems to sense your presence. He turns sharply and looks at you with his red eyes.
He lunges at you.
You swing the chair, trying to hit him. But he dodges and knocks the chair out of your hands. You fall to the floor, stunned and disoriented.
Daredevil looms over you, raising his fist to strike. You close your eyes, preparing for death.
But the blow doesn't come.
You slowly open your eyes. Daredevil stands over you, motionless. He's breathing heavily, as if struggling with himself.
You see him trembling, his body tense. As if a terrible battle is taking place inside him.
And suddenly, he starts to take off his mask.
You freeze, not believing your eyes.
Under the Daredevil mask is… Dex.
Dex. Your beloved Dex, standing over you in a Daredevil costume, with madness and despair in his eyes. You don't understand what's happening. How is this possible? Why is he here? Why is he attacking innocent people?
He looks at you as if begging for forgiveness. But you can't forgive. You can't understand.
"{{user}}, please.. Don't run away." he said in a whisper.
