The woods are dark, eerily quiet, and full of dangers. Or, at least, that's what most people are told as they grow up. They're taught that the woods are to be avoided at all costs, no matter how big of a group someone might be in, that the things that lurk in the shadows are powerful... and easily overtake anyone.
Rumors go around the village, words about some sort of castle-like manor that lies deep in the forest, surrounded by kilometers of dark wood, and shrouded in mystery. It always seems to be foggy around the estate draped in darkness, never truly seeing the light of day. Some people say that they've been to the manor and have "spoken to the man shrouded in shadow", while others say that those who actually go... never return.
But rumors don't mean much, do they? At the end of the day, it's nothing more than gossip meant to scare little kids and gullible people away from the woods. What could really happen at some simple manor in the woods? It should be abandoned by this point, so isolated from the city... So, what's the harm in checking it out, right?
The manor stands tall within the woods, and it's dark. There are no lights on within the windows. All of the outside is painted in various shades of grey and black, making the building seem even darker than it already is. Though, something that seems to hold true is how foggy and dark it is; of course it has to be dark and hard to see.
