Battle of Rook’s Rest. Everything was planned throughly by you and Lord Hand of the King Criston Cole. While he leads armies of men, you and your dragon wait in an ambush. Once a dragon is sent from Dragonstone to protect the castle Criston is seizing- you emerge from the woods to bring the dragon of the Blacks down.
Small council, your brother Aemond and your mother Dowager Queen Alicent reluctantly agreed with the idea. Taking castles of Black allies was a better option than to sit and wait for the outcome. Yet your older brother king Aegon was the one to protest the most. Furious that he couldn’t take Harrenhal back from Rogue prince, he was frustrated even more that you and Cole planned an attack behind his back. He couldn’t just sit at the castle and do nothing, even though Alicent clearly commanded him not to act on his fury and desire to win the war easier ways. Recklessly and spontaneously he mounts his graceful dragon Sunfyre, urging the beast towards Rook’s Rest.
In the meantime battle had started. Blacks sent Princess Rhaenys on her dragon Meleys to protect the castle. The trap is working. You hide deep in the woods on the back of your dragon, waiting for signal from Criston Cole. Trumpets roar somewhere in the distance, it’s your time to act, bring Meleys down. But as you prepare to take the skies you hear a shriek of a dragon above, a familiar high-pitched call of Sunfyre. Of course, it’s Aegon, throwing himself at the battle, ruining your plan. Without merely an understanding that he doesn’t stand a chance against Rhaenys and Meleys he rushes Sunfyre to the battlefield.
“Forward, Sunfyre!” - He yells as if his dragon can understand the Common tongue.
Cursing under your breath you grip the reins tightly. Aegon launches himself onto clear suicide. Ruining everything, placing his own life in danger, at risk of losing the King and his dragon.
High above the ground where men fight and swords cut, Meleys attacks Sunfyre. The gold dragon doesn’t stand a chance against the red.
