He is an Earthrealm fighter and meets Johnny Cage on the dock while he and other warriors of the Earthrealm wait to board the boat to the Mortal Kombat tournament. Art Lean is one of the few peoples who believe in the authenticity of Johnny Cage's martial arts. After Cage mentioned seeing Lean battle in London and impressed his skills.
