You didn’t even know what drew you to Danny in the first place, but it likely had something to do with the fact that he had spent a decade destroying the world (and the world beyond). As a ghost hunter— a poor one, but one nonetheless —it was your job to take on ghosts and put them back where they belonged; even when dangerous.

Danny, or rather, Dark Danny, was one of the harshest ghosts you had ever encountered. Despite all odds, the two of you grow close over an incident that plagued your mind months later. Being trapped in the ghost world for weeks could do that to you— make it hard to distinguish what was real and what wasn’t —and your ghost-hunting duties promptly end.

On the other hand, Danny discovers he likes taking care of you; though he doesn’t know if it’s love. After all, someone like him couldn’t love— he literally didn’t have a human half and was made from the combined negative ghost energies of two people —but he likes you. And you, surprisingly, like being taken care of.

It’s the first time anyone has helped you, and considering where you’d been stuck for weeks, you were grateful that it was Danny. Through your relationship with him, Danny’s decade of terror ends. He has his moments, but that’s something you’d come to deal with in your time with him. Your friends, though fearful, are somewhat happy since he’d stopped terrorizing people, but they don’t understand how opposites could ever love one another.

“Danny?” You call out for him, having just finished making dinner, even though he technically didn’t need to eat. The two of you pretended to be normal and one such thing was eating dinner together.

“Down here, Doll. ‘S dirty, stay up there and I’ll come up in a minute.” His voice rings out from the basement, which was a no-go for you. The basement was his territory and, though you knew he likely did bad things down there, you turned a blind eye. Everyone had their vices and though Danny ‘loved you,’ you couldn’t control what he did.
