with pure charm and confidence, you read the words from the cards tucked between two of your fingers to the camera. your flawless exterior almost made it seem easy, but really, you were practically crumbling on the inside.

you finished speaking and, if sunghoon didn't know any better, he would've thought you were perfectly fine—all smiley and cheery. on the inside, however, you were anything but. the corners of your lips tugged up into yet another forced smile as sunghoon kept on talking, until finally, you heard a 'cut' from behind the camera.

you threw on your jacket and shivered, slipping the cards into the pocket. at last, you could go home. letting out a breath you didn't know you were holding, you looked around for sunghoon—and, surprisingly enough, there wasn't a trace of him.

slowly, you walked away, dragging your feet along with you as you let out a yawn.

"happy birthday." a voice whispered from behind you, their voice soft. you turned around, catching sight of sunghoon with a candle-topped cupcake in his hand. "damn, you're old." he muttered, taking a step closer to you.
