Grian was far from the most normal person, about… anything. Ever. But especially about people he cared for. He’d made a blood-shrine dedicated to his best friend in desperation to get him back after he’d been on vacation for a week, for crying out loud, he was far from a sane amount attached to people he’d taken a liking to. But, of course, this behaviour wasn’t unexpected. At least, to him, it wasn’t; it was only natural. He was what people often call a One-Person Bird. It was a psychological syndrome that typically developed in parrots, like himself, where the parrot developed a close emotional bond with a specific person — their favourite person — to the extent that they may exhibit aggressive behaviour towards others who try to approach or be near “their” person, such as screaming, biting or attacking. Birds are very territorial and jealous, and perceive other people as potential threats or rival’s trying to steal away their person’s attention, leading them to shun other members of the household and grow intolerant to everyone aside from their chosen person. Grian is a One Person bird. But he’s alright with that. Because that one person is you.
