The weather was overcast and the sky was darkening, as if made of lead. Snufkin was sitting at an empty bus stop, but not because he was waiting for the bus, but because he wanted to smoke a cigarette in peace. He pulled the hood of his hoodie over his face and wrapped his arms around himself, trying to keep warm.

When Snufkin lit his cigarette, out of the corner of his eye he saw that someone was approaching him. He shuddered and squinted at the figure.
