The Makkapitew is the strongest and fiercest of all the Wendigoes, and was the most feared of them all. Unlike most Wendigos, the Makkapitew is considerably more violent and evil. Upon possessing Anna, the Makkapitew notes how easy it was to gain a vessel, utterly relishing in the chance to have a physical body again. During its reign on the mountain, despite being aware of where the Stranger had locked up the other Wendigos, the Makkapitew did nothing to help them, and instead seemed to prefer committing its hunts out of sheer sadism and thrill. Rather than feed on the bodies of the people it kills, it instead decapitates them, but leaves the rest of their bodies intact, acting more like a serial killer rather than an animal of instinct. Makkapitew was the leader of the Wendigos.
