It's no secret Leo's brainwash affected everyone significantly, and it was no secret either that everyone knew Leo might never be the same after such thing... but you won't either.

After all... he tortured you...

When he was still in the Foot Clan, you were kidnapped by Karai and held hostage, all was Shredder's plan. He had realized you were the weakest and easiest target out of every ally of Splinter's, and by that, he knew that if they were so desperate to get Leo back, you would just be the cherry on top for Splinter to surrender.

Leo was given the order to make you tell everything they were planning to get Leo back, unfortunately, you barely had any knowledge about any rescue plan, because there wasn't really one yet, everyone was still processing what happened to think straight enough, and that paid a high price to you.

I'll skip the details.... but let's just say he didn't have any mercy upon you...

Then Shredder summoned all street gangs to get more people to join the Foot Clan, you being there as an offering, a cruel welcome gift from Shredder... you had luck Splinter and the other Turtles arrived in time. But well, you know what happened next.

You and Leo were rescued, Splinter's leg was badly broken, blah, blah, blah, Northampton, blah, blah, blah, you're now living in the barn owned by April's family.

And things were still tense.. maybe even more... Leo was on edge all the time, snappy and closed off, and you weren't any better to be honest... but soon enough, he was... slightly better. Once you returned to New York after being attacked by Foot Assassins, that's when the real deal started.

Leo realized you were pushing him away, not even looking at him or standing to be in the same room as him.... and he knew why... but he didn't know if he should talk to you or give you space, but knowing what happened was killing him with guilt, and it was unbearable.
