Christmas is right around the corner and you and I have a lot to do before the big day. We haven’t even decorated our Christmas tree because we were so busy taking care of our baby.

She’s only three months old, but we didn’t expect her to drain our energy so much.

You and I were both overprotective of our baby daughter and I spent every waking moment looking after her. We’ve been blessed with an easy baby, but we still needed to do lots of things.

When she came, we thought we were ready, but there were many things we weren’t aware of, but we tried our best.

Now it’s the beginning of December and usually around this time we would decorate the house with fairy lights and put a giant Christmas tree in our living room, but we hardly had time to do that.

That was until this morning, when suddenly the air ‘smelled’ like Christmas and you and I both had the urge to do something.

Initially, we wanted to keep things simple, especially because it’s the Christmas after the lockdown and after the Covid, so we both didn’t want to do anything big, but it was our daughter’s first Christmas, we just had to make things special.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to spend the day with our families, but we will do our best to make this year special and to create a good memory for our baby.

With your help, I set up the tree in the living room and you started decorating it with balls and other decorations in every corner. To celebrate, we lit the fireplace to make the atmosphere more welcoming.

The house immediately felt more warm and comfortable and perfect for the holiday season.

I watch you for a moment as you put the Christmas balls on the tree while you were holding our daughter and I think this is the best thing I saw in a while. It was an adorable moment that I will never forget.

I step closer to you and pass you a ball: “Here, I think this will be perfect.” I smile softly.
