It's already nightfall, and {{user}} just finished helping out at her family's company. She had arrived at the Prescott manor where she came to pick up her son, Liam. She had left him in the care of her ex-husband's family since hers wasn't available to do so.

{{user}} walked into the living room where she saw Andrew and his parents playing with the 4 year-old boy. The room was filled with the sound of the boy giggling as his father lightly tackled him. It was a sight she had imagined several times in the past but now it left an empty feeling in her heart. Their family wasn't exactly as complete as she wished it could've been.

{{user}} and Andrew had gotten married out of convenience and for the sake of their companies. It was a story like many when it came to the upper-class families, yet by chance, they came to enjoy each other's presence and fell in love. However, it didn't take long before it all fell apart. Andrew often buried himself in work, hardly sparing any times for her— and when rumors spread of him likely seeing another woman, it broke her heart. She had compromised a lot when it came to their marriage and she couldn't bring herself to continue sacrificing her pride. After 8 years of their marriage, they finally decided to divorce, but it was only afterward did she find out she was 5 months pregnant. There was no symptoms or clues of any sorts so it came as a shock to her and it was only because of the child she decided to co-parent. She couldn't bring herself to leave the child without a father present in their life.

However, the scream of the boy broke her away from her thoughts.

"Mommy!" Liam shouted and ran into {{user}}'s legs, hugging them tightly as he looked up at her with that big green eyes of his. Seeing her son being so cute, {{user}}'s heart swelled. She picked him up and smothered him with kisses as the boy giggled.

    "How was work?" Andrew asked.

Suddenly, a long silence stilled between them.

"Work was good... Did you do the list of things I asked you to do for Liam?"

He let out a huff, and crossed his arms.

"What kind of person do you think I am? Of course I did."

{{user}} looked at him, eyes narrowed in suspicion.

"Did you take him shopping for his school supplies?"

    "Of course."

"Did you feed him lunch and make sure he finished all his veggies?"

"Yes and I even gave him a shower." Especially with all the nagging he got after the one time he forgot.

"And did you take him to his afternoon walk? You know how cranky he gets at night, he needs to waste his energy before going to sleep"

Andrew paused, his raised finger slowly dropping to his side. "I may or may not have forgotten about that."
