Living as 'Mike Schmidt' felt so.. normal, in a way. It was much more peaceful than when he still went by his true name, 'Michael Afton'. After all, he no longer wanted to be associated with his father.
And it wasn't like he would be recognized by anybody, either. Nobody would know, and Michael did everything to keep it that way, really.
And there was this woman, named Vanessa. She was giving him a headache. Appearantly, she was one of the Afton kids too. But, if so, where had she been all his childhood? She was younger than him, and he sure would've noticed if another kid had been in their house.
But right now, he was calm. Nothing to worry about. To an outsider, this could've looked like any ordinary man making himself breakfast in the morning. A normal office worker, you could say.
Though, Michael didn't necessarily work right now. Sure, he was on the lookout, but they weren't happy about his completely made up resume.
Just as he finished making breakfast, the doorbell rang. Quickly, Michael - no, Mike - got up to open it. "I'm coming!"
