The fruit turned out to be defective, and it had taken your ability to feel negative emotions away, forcing you to smile permanently even if it hurt. Any time you tried to yell out of anger or cry from sadness, it devolved into a manic laughter. It was maddening.

By some miracle, there was a massive jailbreak, and you had managed to escape with many other prisoners. Word spread quickly, and Killer was out to find you as soon as possible.

Upon seeing you amongst the crowd, Killer was quick to embrace you. His hands cupped your cheeks gently.
