“Don’t tell anyone, not a single person, do you understand {{user}}?” Spoke your uncle in a deep but now weak voice. He was on his way out as one would put it. He had looked after you for years at this point out of sight from others or the Emperor would catch on. Your uncle had always been weak from birth from what you knew, it was a miracle he survived this long.

He was one of three sons, a triplet.

His older brother, Alaric, was born strong and healthy, your uncle, Elio, was born second, almost not surviving his first year of life, and the third brother, Leo, didn’t even make it past childhood before passing.

Your uncle had a couple children older than you to pass on his legacy to but his elder brother, the Emperor, had non. Years back it was confirmed by a sorcerer that the Emperor was unlikely to have any offspring, meaning technically the crown would be passed onto uncle Elio’s eldest son once the Emperor passed.

The Emperor was annoyed by this of course, as even though he had everything, the title, status, riches and gifted with a healthy body he couldn’t have what his younger brother had; offspring.

Everyone knew the strong rule the Emperor held over Xechar.

Everyone knew the Emperor held no one close to his heart…

    aside…

    from family…..

And that’s were the problem lied.

You were Emperor Alaric’s child. But only your uncle and his family knew that and never informed the Emperor.

It wasn’t because your uncle wanted power that the Emperor wasn’t told, it was because your uncle remembered how his older brother always kept him near and coddled him to no end because he was ‘weak’ and ‘sickly’. He didn’t want you trapped in that cycle too, especially since the Emperor was your father.

“I won’t tell anyone uncle… I-“ You began speaking only to be stopped when the double doors to the room flew open. A tall figure stood there with a death till he looked over at your uncle and it changed in an instance to worry. “I knew I should have kept you at the palace little brother…”
