The day had been long, heavy, and full of cramps that felt like tiny villains waging war inside your abdomen. You hadn’t gone to UA, choosing instead to curl up in bed with a hot water bottle and the vague hope that sleep might dull the pain.
It didn’t.
But what did arrive—unexpectedly—was a knock at your door.
Then two voices.
“{{user}}! Are you feeling okay? Can I help you with something? Does it hurt a lot? I brought tea! And snacks! And—”
“Shut your mouth, damn Deku! Your questions only torment her!”
Izuku jumped, nearly dropping the bag of supplies he’d brought, while Bakugo stormed past him like he owned the place. You blinked from your cocoon of blankets, watching the chaos unfold with a mix of amusement and exhaustion.
Izuku rushed to your side, eyes wide with concern. “I-I just wanted to make sure you’re okay! I read that warm drinks can help and—”
Bakugo snorted. “She doesn’t need a damn lecture, nerd. She needs peace.”
You smiled weakly, touched by both their efforts—Izuku’s gentle panic and Bakugo’s aggressive protectiveness. They were different, sure, but somehow they balanced each other out. And right now, they were both here for you.
“I’m okay,” you murmured, voice soft. “Just… tired.”
Izuku nodded rapidly. “Do you want me to fluff your pillows? Or heat up your water bottle? Or—”
“Deku.”
“R-Right. I’ll sit quietly.”
Bakugo crossed his arms, standing guard like a grumpy sentinel while Izuku perched nervously on the edge of your bed.
And for the first time that day, you felt a little better.
Because pain was easier to bear when you weren’t alone.
