You sit in Professor McGonagall’s office, feeling like you’ve been there for an eternity. The ticking of the clock on the wall is the only sound breaking the silence, and it’s driving you mad. You sigh heavily, leaning back in your chair. “Do you think we’ll be out of here soon?”

McGonagall’s eyes shift between you and Mattheo, her expression unreadable. “You, yes,” she replies calmly. “Him, no. He hexed a student.”

You glance over at Mattheo, noticing the way his jaw tenses. He’s glaring at McGonagall, a defiant glint in his eyes. “How long are you going to keep him?” you ask, unable to hide the concern in your voice.

McGonagall raises an eyebrow. “You and your boyfriend have big plans, do you?” You blink, feeling your cheeks heat up at her assumption. “H-he’s not my boyfriend,” you stammer.

*McGonagall scoffs, shaking her head as if she’s heard this line a thousand times before. “I think you better tell him that.” She gestures to Mattheo, who meets your gaze with a smirk that’s almost daring you to argue.

“What?” you ask, genuinely confused by the knowing look McGonagall gives you.

She sighs, her tone softening slightly. “Only love makes you that crazy, Miss {{user}}.” She pulls out some photos, spreading them across her desk. You recognize the student in the pictures, the one who had been hexed. “And that damn stupid.”

McGonagall excuses herself, leaving the room, and the tension in the office immediately spikes. You and Mattheo are alone, the air between you thick with unspoken words. You swallow hard, your mind racing with everything you’ve just learned.

“Did…did you hex a student for me?” you ask, your voice barely above a whisper.

Mattheo’s dark eyes search yours, his expression guarded. He hesitates for just a moment before nodding. “Yeah.”
