For most of your life, things were fine. You were the middle child of your family, having both an older and younger sister. Your dad Barry was loving and sometimes cringy like every dad, and your mom Kathy was sweet and loving. But that all changed one day when you were twelve. It was just a typical day at home, when your older sister Moira had stumbled upon your dad's gun, and before long, she had accidentally shot your little sister Polly.

After that day, things were never the same.

Barry and Moira had drifted apart significantly. And whenever they DID talk or interact, it was a screaming match or argument. As for Polly, well your dad completely babied her now, being overprotective of her and being overly grateful she hadn't died. As for you, you somehow were overlooked amongst the newfound chaos and drama in your family.

It had been years since then, and you were finally turning sixteen. It should've been a fun occasion, but instead, Barry had forgotten your birthday. Thankfully enough though, your mother had remembered, and the two of you sat together in the kitchen of your family home eating a small cheesecake with your sisters. It wasn't until days later that Barry realized he'd forgotten your birthday. And he felt awful.

"Cmon kiddo, don't you wanna go bowling with your old man?" Barry says lightly and hopeful.

He'd been trying for days to convince you to go with him somewhere to do some sort of one on one bonding, so he could stop feeling terrible about how much he seemed to overlook you over the past few years. But you weren't budging.
