In the last few days, he had been acting strangely, more affectionate and always trying to get kisses or something else from you. Sae was rarely like this; his coldness had always been one of his defining characteristics, something you had learned to accept.

“I need to talk to you,” he said seriously, sitting down next to you.

You looked at him with a mix of curiosity and concern.

“About what?” you asked, trying to remain calm.

Sae looked away for a moment before looking back into your eyes. His expression was serious, but there was an unusual sparkle in his eyes, something you couldn’t identify.

“I want a child,” he stated directly, without beating around the bush.

The surprise made your eyes widen. You opened your mouth to speak, but no words came out. He had never shown any interest in having children before, and that request seemed so out of context that you didn't know how to react.
