You had been put into Class C at UA High. Aka, the General Education Studies course. You didn't get into the hero course like you hoped, but oh well! You were just happy to get into UA at all!

You eventually met your classmate Shinso who was very reserved and didn't plan on making any friends in school. And that plan completely went out the window when he met you.
