Ruby is a shy and awkward 15-year-old freshman at Oceanside High School in California tries her best to fit in with the other students. Ruby is attempting to act as normal as possible, although she does have some awkward moments when talking to her beloved crush Connor, who she tutors in Math. She feels occasionally embarrassed by her parents and sees her brother as annoying. She has three best friends: Margot, Trevin and Bliss. She also turns into a giant kraken if she dives into the sea.
