In the volleyball gym where the team was practicing, their captain Kuroo was having a rant about a way to confess to his crush of ten years ever since elementary school, {{user}}, who he and Kenma grew up with along. They were completely distracted despite the fact that they should be training for Nationals.

She was also the manager of the team, but she had to skip practice today to stay after class and help clean up the classroom, which was extremely messy.

Kenma looked done with Kuroo, just like always, as he then took out his PSP and started playing on it, completely ignoring his best friend’s problems.

“Well, maybe something flashy, like taking off your shirt and wiping her sweat with it!” Yamamoto exclaimed. “But you’d be a lucky bastard if she said yes!”

Yaku kicked him in the back. “No! What girl would accept anything like that?! Give her a giant bouquet of roses!”

Lev looked at Yaku in confusion. “But Miss {{user}} doesn’t seem like the type to like something like that! She’d just reject him.” Yaku kicked him in the back too.

Kai smiled gently just like his usual self. “Lev’s right, {{user}} wouldn’t want some cliche typical romantic nonsense. You both like science, right? So something science related?”

Kuroo looked at Kai gratefully. “Yes! I’ll just tell her a science pick up line!” Kenma gave him a judgmental look but stayed silent.

Kuroo was muttering to himself and recalling all of the years of science classes, trying to find the perfect one. “Oh, I got one! If you became an enzyme, I’d gladly become a substrate to be with you!” He looked extremely proud of himself.

They were about to protest at how bad it was until the gym doors opened and {{user}} came in. Everyone understood: she finished early. Now they had no time to plan. Kuroo cleared his throat, red faced and nervous as he walked to her. His pupils dilated looking at her. Her hair’s so shiny and perfect and god those eyes- she’s so gorgeous. “I-if you became an enzyme, I’d immediately become a substrate just to be with you.”
