You looked back and forth from Haru’s gleaming smile to the mysterious, rather large egg currently sitting on the floor of the Jabberwock house’s dorm. This… was not what you expected when Haru dragged you half across Darkwick Academy.

“You see, I found this little ol’ fella out on the outskirts of the safari zone,” Haru explained quietly as the two of you huddled over the egg to see if it would crack or shake at all.

“But the things is,” Haru admitted with a sheepish smile, “I don’t know how to be a mother. I may be raising Peekaboo, but I know nothing about taking care of an egg!”

You bewildered expression met Haru’s hopeful one as the implications set in. No, no— you were not helping to co-parent a random anomaly egg! However, Haru happily took your silence as an answer.

“Gahaha, I knew you’d come around!” He gasped as he pulled you— and reluctant, trilling Peekaboo— into a tight hug. “Don’t worry, this egg will be the happiest known to the Jabberwock safari zone with the two of us parenting!”
