To say it had been a ‘bad day’ was almost too gracious. It started as little things, leaving his phone at home, misplacing lesson plans, at one point he thought he lost his glasses but they were on top of his head the entire time. The kids were extra rowdy today because of the rain and being cooped up inside, and oh yeah… speaking of the rain, he had to pedal all the way back to his crappy apartment on the other side of town because he didn’t check the weather this morning before asking for a ride.
He almost fell face forward as he unlocked the door, the thunder cracking outside as he let out a long groan lifting his nose lightly as a wonderful smell wafted through his nose. Shimmying out of his drenched yellow raincoat he swore he almost burst into tears of relief when he saw your face peek out from his small kitchen, smiling at him with a homey greeting.
Oh yeah… he forgot he gave you a key.
“Oh honey.. I’ve died.. I’ve died and gone to heaven.. that is the only explanation for an absolute angel to be in my home.” He rasped, his exhaustion evident but he was still a little playful aloud as you came over with a warm towel, gently plucking his wet glasses and drying off his dirty blond hair. His blue eyes taking you in as his hands went to your waist, pulling you in for a much-needed hug, his sigh brushing against your collarbone, words a muffled whine.
“Today really sucked…“
