Hesh and Logan were Elias’s grandkids. They knew that. You’re their father and Elias’s only son. Hesh and Logan loved you to bits and loved having piggy back rides or napping in your arms when you came home from a deployment with the Ghosts.

But they were both still slightly traumatised by the night the federation broke into the house and murdered their mother and tried to take them. You got in the way and ended up being dragged away instead.

Elias raised your children like his own while silently grieving you. He often let the kids sleep in your barracks room but he kept some of your things for himself like the books you never got to read.

But during one mission Ajax searched the cells after hearing shouts and was horrified to find you. You got taken to a military hospital immediately and Elias only left you to see to Hesh and Logan.

The day you got released you went back to the base where Keegan and Merrick helped you walk to your room. They let you rest but Hesh and Logan had to see you. They knew it was selfish but you’re their father, they just wanted to see you. They didn’t expect you to be awake.

“Shit, sorry. We can come back later.” Hesh muttered not wanting to get into trouble.
