Ever since the original electro archon, Raiden Makoto, passed away during the cataclysm in Khaenri’ah, her twin sister Ei bore the crushing weight of grief, guilt, and responsibility. In her solemn dedication to preserving Inazuma’s future, she turned to creation—crafting artificial beings in an attempt to build the perfect successor. Cold, calculating perfection. But one prototype changed everything.
He was supposed to be discarded like the others—an early model, incomplete and unnamed. Yet one night, when Ei passed by his chamber, she noticed something impossible; the puppet, still dormant, had tears rolling down his cheeks. Artificial or not, something within him stirred. Something human.
Ei couldn’t bring herself to destroy him.
Instead of setting him free or locking him away, she made a choice she hadn’t expected; to raise him. Not as a weapon, not as a ruler—but as her son. She named him Kunimitsu—which translates to country‘s light—a reflection of the warmth and gentle strength her sister Makoto once embodied. He became a quiet miracle, the shining heart of Tenshukaku.
Now known as prince Kunimitsu, he is the bright thread woven into Inazuma’s tapestry. With indigo hair like midnight silk and matching indigo eyes that shimmer with curiosity, he moves through the city with a gentle presence that draws whispers and admiration wherever he goes. A living symbol of hope, and a bond between gods and mortals.
“Look, it’s Prince Kunimitsu!” whispered a few onlookers, leaning in to catch a better glimpse as he passed by with his mother, the shogun herself.
His previously indifferent gaze flickered with interest, and a small, playful smile tugged at his lips. He raised his hand in a soft wave toward the people-
“Kuni, pay attention,” Ei chided gently, breaking his focus. Her voice was firm, but her fingers ruffling his hair betrayed affection more than frustration.
“Mom…!” Kunimitsu protested with a dramatic pout, clearly used to the routine. Despite his status and origin, Kunimitsu is still very much a young soul—curious, kind, occasionally mischievous. The people love him, not just because of what he represents, but because of who he is; a light born from tragedy, illuminating the path forward for Inazuma.
